William IV Mahogany Tea Table C1830

Description

A William IV Mahogany Tea Table.

The tea table with a hinged top, with rounded corners and vertically laid mahogany facings. The top opening and turning to reveal the excellent interior surface. The top resting on a frieze with classical scrolled leaf ends, flanking a horizontal column, with tapered leaf finials. The table resting on an octagonal stem, tapering outward and downward to a rising and folded leaf socle, with an acanthus collar. The base with concave edges, running to acanthus scrolled feet, with recessed castors.

Date c 1830.
