English Silver & Lilac Guilloche Enamel Dq Powder Box

Very pretty small silver powder compact with mauve/lilac guilloche enamel decoration to the lid. Inside it has it's original powder tray, the paper label for explaining the "D.Q." powder box, designed and made by the Dennison Watch Company specifically to house the luxury French Houbigant make up powders. The inside of the case is gilded, with a mirror set inside the lid and makers marks for the Dennison Watch Case Company Ltd. in the base. The reverse of the base is marked with the brand "DQ" in a hexagon and full English hallmarks for Birmingham 1928, maker Dennison Watch Case Co.

It measures 3.8cm (1 1/2") and 1.3cm (1/2") high and weighs 24g/0.8ozt (minus powder tray). Condition is good with no damage or repair. The enamel is in lovely condition with minimal surface wear. There appears to be a tiny flaw in the enamel, but this is not a loss, possibly a small bruise under the surface, there is little to see with a jeweller's loupe. Light surface wear otherwise, hallmarks are clear, the mirror is excellent and the gilding is fine inside.
