Gents boxed 9ct gold wrist watch, 1921.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, probably by the Swiss movement manufacturer Fontainemelon, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. Although originally designed to be a man's watch, it is slightly on the small side and would suit a man with a slimmer wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London 1921, with a maker's mark EH for the Coventry based watch case maker Edward Hickman. The case is in lovely condition for such an early piece with just surface marking to the back, nothing too detrimental at all. The back of the watch has an inscription, 'Binkie, 29.4.25'.

The lens is in good condition, as is the white enamel dial with a blue number 12, pin-set blued steel hands and a subsidiary seconds dial.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in an antique presentation box.
