Description

A well proportioned oak and mahogany crossbanded and inlaid longcase clock. A swan-neck hood pediment with 3 original brass finials. Brass capped fluted hood columns and trunk sides. An attractive arched painted dial with gold leaf decorations with date and seconds dials. An 8-day duration striking the hours on a bell.

Thoams Allen of Wantage is recorded in Loomes' ' Watch and 'Clockmakers of The World' book as working in from 1800-1837.
