Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
With another long drawer hidden in the plinth and raised on turned bun feet. Typical of the biedermeier style any applied decoration is forgoed in favour of the timbers used. In this case superbly figured flame mahogany veneers which are laid in a symmetrical repeating pattern across the front and again on drawer fronts inside. Fabulous quality, note the oversized brass locks, original gilded brass knobs, oak drawer linings and back boards. Some wear to the surface of the marble and old repairs to the veneers. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
Dimensions: width 39½", depth 16½", height 58".
