Description

Framed and signed oil on canvas by the well listed artist Julien Stappers (1875 - 1960). The oil on canvas shows an attractive view of a French village in summer. The painting is mounted in a carved gilt frame and signed by the artist.

Julien Stappers was a Belgium artist who painted mainly floral still lifes, city views and landscapes who trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp and the Institute of Fine Arts. He held his first exhibition in 1903 an presented to the Rubens Gallery in Brussels in 1959 and 1960 and the Jordaens Gallery in Ghent in 1957 and 1959.
