This set of 8 William IV mahogany dining chairs were made circa 1830.

The William IV dining chairs were made by a chairmaker who understood design, proportion, as well as having the eye to select wonderful hard mahogany timber, not the soft dull modern timber that is now on offer these days.

The 8 dining chairs have newly upholstered drop-in seats in a neutral pale green.

Each chair has the desirable and solid mahogany comfortable shaped bar back.

The central cross bar on the back is a carved scroll joining at the middle with a carved shell.

The chairs stand on front legs that are finely turned and fluted, the usual splay legs to the rear.
