Superb 18th Century Laburnum & Yew-wood Oyster Veneered Chest of Drawers

Description

A beautiful example of an early 18th century marquetry inlaid chest of two short over three long dovetailed oak lined graduated drawers. Polished top cross-banded in yew, with two toned oyster veneers,with a particularly lovely hearts and spiral pattern motif.

Cross-cut thumbnail/ogee mouldings to top and frontage, cross-banded and oyster veneered sides, cross cut ogee plinth above later period bun feet. Honest period 18th century replaced brasswork, solid thick planked back.

The chest is a wonderful rich golden colour and patination, all timbers/veneers stable, in ready to go condition. Bought from a private collection.
