Antique English Sterling Silver Photograph Frame - Ribbon and Bow - 1905

Description

Pretty as a picture, an Edwardian photograph frame made by sterling silver fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1905. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, E Mander & Sons.

What is quite lovely is that the cream silk behind the glass retains the gold embossed retailer's signature for the well renowned Mappin and Webb - "Mappin & Webb Ltd. / Manufacturing Goldsmiths and Silversmiths / London & Sheffield".

The top is mounted with a fabulous ribbon and bow mount, quite beautiful. The back of the frame is covered in a navy blue velvet and incorporates a folding easel back stand.

Excellent condition measuring 7" x 5" with a glazed aperture measuring 5 1/4" x 3 7/8".
