A splendid Japanese Meiji period satsuma pottery okimono depicting the 6th century Buddhist monk Daruma, on a black ground with intricate gilded decoration on his robe, and highlighting his facial hair, he carries a single slipper, a row of beads over his shoulder and a hat tied around his back. This well modelled figure is in excellent condition and stands 9 inches tall.
