Quality Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Bowl

A charming Japanese Meiji period satsuma pottery bowl of circular form with lobed rim beautifully hand painted in the centre depicting two bijin with a little girl & boy who has a cricket cage, in a garden setting with birds in flight overhead. The outside of the bowl is further decorated with three groups of bijin sat in front of flowers and the rim is finished with a delicate repeating border which varies from inside to out. This fine satsuma bowl is signed on the underside and apart from typical very minor rubbing it is in excellent condition measuring 5 inches in diameter
