Impressive Ormolu & Porcelain Mantel Clock

Description

A most impressive mid/late 19th century French ormolu MANTEL CLOCK in fine condition and in perfect working order.

The superb case is of finest quality ormolu (gilt bronze) retaining its original gilding, and is surmounted with a "Sevres" style porcelain urn and embellished with various matching porcelain panels.

The eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell whilst the dial is also of matching handpainted porcelain, retaining its original gilded 'spade' hands. All the panels are perfect and the gilding bright and original. 16ins (40.5cms) high; 11ins (28cms) wide and 6ins (15cms) deep front-to-back.
