Youngs Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Probably dating from the late 18th - early 19th century this portrait is another version of the famous full length painting of King Charles 1st at "The Hunt" by Anthony Van Dyck, which now resides in the Louvre in Paris.

The portrait itself has been relined, most likely sometime in the 19th century. The shoulder has had some restoration at some stage and there is a small amount of flaking to the varnish in the top left corner of the portrait.

The portrait is set in an 18th century frame with slip inset, there are some losses to the gilding and carving in areas but overall the painting and the frame are in excellent condition.
