A superb solid silver Tea Strainer and stand, beautifully designed. The bowl is a lovely plain polished silver and stands on a single collet foot with a protruding band around the top. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1962 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, along with the silver maker''s marks for the renowned makers Elkington & Co.
The base is also stamped ''Elkington'' with the number ''36544''
The strainer sits perfectly on the top with a nicely pierced bowl and neat handles. The hallmarks are also visible underneath the handles .
A most attractive Tea Strainer; stands nice and level and is a good solid weight.
Condition: In great collector''s condition.
