FB Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The top screws onto two pedestals, each having an arrangement of four graduated drawers in the front, and a further four drawers in the side, which is a highly unusual combination. All of the drawers have turned wooden handles, are oak lined and hand dovetailed. The top being flat, allows for ample knee hole space. The desk is in very good condition, having been re-polished using traditional methods.
