Large Art Deco Oak Chest

1920 - 1940
Description

A stylish large Art Deco oak chest or blanket box. Sarcophagus shaped with a stepped top, the top lifts up to reveal a large storage area inside. In a beautifully figured quarter sawn oak veneer with ebony stringing to the front, the lid has finger holes so it can be easily lifted and it stands on a shaped plinth base.

Oak / Oak veneers

Condition Report:

Wear and marks commensurate with age. Some water stains to top. Formerly a gramophone cabinet; some filled holes to the sides and lots of wear and holes to the interior. A replacement back.
