~ French - Circa 1880 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A lovely original antique French Rococo clock by Vincenti et Cie. Flamboyantly modelled in gilded bronze, waisted case with with swirling acanthus, 'c' scrolls and floral swags. To the front is a panel of fret work with a motif of musical instruments. To the top is an elaborate asymmetric finial of flowers and foliage.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with separate minute ring. It is signed for the retailer Bessenay & Rozier. It is complete with it's original finely fretted hands and Rococo bezel with convex glass.

The French movement is by Vincenti and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video available of the clock running.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Vincenti et Cie clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate and the retailers signature on the dial

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
