Magnificent Wmf Silver Plated Centerpiece - Original Crystal Liner C.1900

Description

A truly fine centrepiece standing on four claw feet with a central mythical face back and front flanked with overflowing cornucopias.

It is a miracle that the original shaped liner with cut border, is intact and undamaged.

The underside to one of the feet is where the makers mark can be found for the famous WMF manufacturer ( WURTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK). Under the direction of Albert Mayer the WMF studio was influenced by the art nouveau style.

Dating to c.1900 and in excellent condition spanning 11 1/2" handle to handle x 4 1/2" x 6" tall to top of handle.
