Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Over crisply carved and pierced back stretchers with anthemion detail at the centre. Moulded front edge to the rear stiles continuing along the side rails and below the seat. Woven bergere or canework seats raised on sabre front legs, also moulded to match. Excellent condition, the canework would appear to have been recently replaced and is of very good quality. Frames have been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Squab cushions could be made for chairs (example illustrated) including fabric of type shown and fixings for £35 per seat.
