Rosewood Wellington Chest with Secretaire

19th century
Description

Dating from the reign of William IV, about 1830, this beautiful figured rosewood Wellington chest has just been completely restored and refreshed. It has five drawers plus two that fold down to reveal a secretaire with pigeon holes and two burr maple fronted drawers, there is a locking bar complete with working lock and key. When the secretaire is open the desk space measures 15" wide x 14"deep (38x35.5cm) - enough for a lap top.
