Octagonal Rolled Gold Stratford Pocket Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A highly decorative octagonal rolled gold pocket watch. A silvered dial with Arabic numerals and gilt dot minute markers. Greek key decoration circling the dial and blued steel moon hands. A 6 jewel Swiss made mechanism by Langendorf, who were reputed to be the largest producers of watches at one time. The brand later became Lanco. A rolled gold case stamped 'Monitor' which was a trademark of the Illinois Watch Company. The back of this watch has pin striped decoration and a vacant cartouche surrounded by floral designs. Circa 1930.
