Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.

The shell is bright with a wonderful iridescent quality projecting a rainbow of colours and reflecting light.
The back has a folding easel stand and a ring for hanging should you so wish. The easel is stamped with the makers initials.

French in origin and dating to c.1890/1900 in excellent condition (wear to the back commensurate with age). 6 3/4" across x 7 7/8" tall to top of bow x 1/2" thick; the circular glazed aperture has a diameter measuring 4 5/8".
