Early 18th Century Welsh Carved Oak Coffer

Description

A decoratively carved early 18th Century Welsh oak coffer with two plank top raised on stile legs. This antique coffer is in very good condition, the interior is very clean and it has the rich colour and patina that is only acquired over very many years. It has some historic repairs compatible with age, but these do not detract from this superb piece. It is believed that this coffer was once owned by a member of Jane Austin's family. In more recent decades it has been in an important private collection.

An early Welsh oak coffer that offers excellent storage and is easy to place in either a traditional or modern interior.
