Sheraton Style Mahogany Display Cabinet C.1905.

Description

Fabulous quality Edwardian serpentine fronted inlaid mahogany display cabinet c.1905. Glazed display cabinet top with a single door, two shaped glass shelves and very smart flatweave silk lining fabric. Over a cupboard base with a single shelf inside. Exceptional cabinet making with extensive inlay and parquetry work across the front and sides. Shaped and moulded cornice with an arched centre over an inlaid dental frieze and original curved glazing. The frieze is repeated on the base which also featured beautiful flame mahogany veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front, with satinwood crossbanding and inlaid stringing. Raised on short square tapering legs ending in a spade foot, also inlaid. Solid mahogany groundwork and backboards. Some chips from the edges of the shelves, otherwise excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops, keys supplied.
