Georgian Cut Out Letter Wine Label for Port by Joseph Willmore, Birmingham 1827

Description

This is a delightful Georgian silver decanter label FOR PORT. The letter P embossed to the front with a cherub and Bacchus amongst foliage and suspended on a belcher link chain. On the reverse, the hallmarks are beautifully clear.

Hallmarks:

JW for Joseph Willmore.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Duty Mark.

Date letter "D" for 1827.

Dimensions:

Letter Height: 2.5cm / 1 inch.

Total length with chain: 12cm / 5 inches.

Condition:

Excellent.

Postage UK: £7 Special Delivery Next day.
