Antique Victorian Silver-rimmed Jug

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

A lovely example of a 19th Century blue and white silver-rimmed jug.

It is clearly hallmarked on the rim for Birmingham 1879, with the maker''s mark of Horace Woodward & Co.

It is lavishly decorated with a Chinese Pagoda pattern with a gold trim around the base and handle. The gold leaf design on the handle has rubbed and there is a small amount of the blue decoration missing just above the handle, as shown in the penultimate photograph. There are no cracks or chips on the silver of the porcelain. All in all, a handsome, practical piece.
