Early Victorian Silver Pounce Pot by John & George Angell, London 1844

Description

This is a fabulous quality solid silver pounce pot or pepper pot made by the renowned John Angell II & George Angell and dated London 1844. The cylindrical body pierced with scrolls and fitted with a pull-off pierced cover. The top pierced and applied with decorative fretwork. Raised on spread pedestal foot.

Fitted with the original blue glass liner.

Hallmarks:

JA over GA for John Angell II & George Angell

London Assay mark.

Date letter "l" for 1844.

Lion passant.

Dimensions:

Height: 8 cm - 3 inches.

Diameter: 5cm / 2 inches.

Condition:

Good condition, no dings or dents.
