Description

A particularly well-fitted mid-19th century mahogany APOTHECARY'S BOX (or medicine box) in very good condition.

The well figured mahogany case, with its recessed brass military-style handle to the lid, opens to reveal a total of 16 small bottles, all with labels, neatly arranged in three rows. The deep drawer below opens to display further bottles and jars, pestle and mortar together with steel & brass balance scales; weights and other items. Working lock and key. Beautiful condition. 9ins wide; 8.5ins high; 6ins deep. (23 x 21.5 x15cms)
