Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This William IV mahogany 1 leaf extending dining table was made circa 1830.
It has the desirable tulip legs finishing with brass cup wheel castors.
In this period the timber that was available was dense and so the carving is very crisp.

The table can be used with its leaf in or with the leaf taken out.
The table pulls open on a telescopic action using runners.
This makes a very good dining table for a more modest dining area.
169cms when open with the leaf inserted 66 1/2ins

111cms without the leaf and closed up 43 3/4ins
113cms wide 44 1/2ins
74cms high 29ins
All sizes are approximate
