Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1910s.

The hinged lid fits well and once opened reveals the original silk and velvet lining. The velvet raised platform to the rear has three cut-outs for three rings. The interior of the lid is lavishly gilded.

The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 together with the makers mark for the top-notch silversmith, Mappin & Webb.
Excellent condition measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 1 1/2".
