Large Pair of C19th Cast Bronze Candlesticks in the Mannerist Late Renaissance Style .

Large pair of C19th cast bronze candlesticks in the C16th Italian Mannerist late Renaissance style .

Impressive pair of intricately designed and cast bronze candlesticks on circular bases . The uprights with male and female figural terme central detail. The candle knozzles with scroll-work details to the sides, the tapering bodies with raised mask and ribbon swag casting, the bases with cast floral decoration.

Removed from a local listed property where the family had previously used them as decoration in a private chapel. Both candlesticks have achieved a good aged , mellow golden patination.

A striking and stylish pair of statement candlesticks of great scale and presence.
