Gents 9ct Gold Smiths De Luxe Wrist Watch, 1955

Gents 9ct gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch, 1955, made in England.

The watch has a 17-jewel hand-winding movement, 27CS, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Edinburgh 1955 with a case maker's stamp for Smiths Clocks & Watches.

The case is in lovely condition. The case back has a 1957 long service inscription from Smiths Industrial Instruments Ltd, another divisions of S Smith & Sons (motor accessories, industrial instruments, clocks and watches and aircraft instruments).

There is a small amount of surface wear to the winding crown.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in good condition, perhaps a shade or two of darkening, with original hands and centre seconds with red pointer end.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
