Large Spelter Flying Fairy Light

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910-1930, a large and finely detailed spelter 'flying fairy' and is the largest we have ever had in 28 years of trading. It is in very good condition with some beautiful details that are hard to show in photographs. It can be viewed by appointment with us in SW London, or Surrey.

The light measures approximately 54cm across in length, and the large and detailed wings are about 13.5cm in height. The width between the arms is 33cm and including the flower top lights it is about 37cm.

It has been rewired to UK specifications using a dark brown flex cable to match the colour of the light and will take any small bayonet cap lightbulb.

The last two photographs show the item with a small pygmy lightbulb on one side, and on the other side with a candle tube to hide the fitting. We include the candle tubes for the buyer to decide what they prefer.
