Antique Burr Walnut Writing Table

19th century
Description

This antique walnut table could be used as a desk, dressing table or just a side table. It’s fabulous quality & the use of burr walnut & figured veneers is spectacular. The top section has a well patterned burr walnut veneer with herringbone inlays & figured walnut cross banding. The drawers are also burr walnut with herringbone inlaid edges. They are finely dovetailed, with solid drawer bottoms, original brass handles & locks. The bottom of the sides & the front are all beautifully shaped out & the solid walnut shaped Queen Anne legs are finely carved at the tops. It’s Queen Anne style & dates to around the 1890-1910 period. Condition is excellent too.

Depth – 23 inches, 58 cm

Height – 30 inches, 76 cm

Knee height – 23 inches, 60 cm
