Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The finely pierced gallery was originally screwed (not soldered) to the rest of the ring, as evidenced by the screw fitting on the finger bezel. An impressive Victorian treasure.

Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indication of heating.
Cut – Oval cut ruby and rose cut diamonds. .
Colour – The diamonds are I to M.

Clarity – Some inclusions in the ruby are visible to the naked eye (as is to be expected in rubies). The diamonds are SI1 to I1.
Carat – The ruby is a known 3.10 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carat.

Circa – 1870.
Size – M (UK) or 6 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The ruby is 10.47 x 7.7mm. The head of the ring is 17.8 x 14.3mm. Sits 8.5mm from the finger.
Metal – 12k yellow gold. Tested.
