Fine Quality Gorge Cased Engraved Carriage Clock

Description

A high quality gorge cased French striking carriage clock. A fully engraved case with fine detailing and the original gilding. A gilt engraved dial with patterning and circular enamel dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. A lower subsidiary alarm dial. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with the original lever escapement. Numbered to the backplate 309 and a circular sound fretted base. An original period travelling box. Push button repeating and alarm feature. Circa 1870.
