Description

Very pretty early 19th century porcelain lidded sucrier by John Rose's Coalport of straight sided oval shape with faux ring handles on the side and elongated stepped knop, c.1805. Painted with a barbeaux pattern of red and blue sprigs between rows of gilded spots in a pattern also seen on some Neale & Co. tea wares*.

It measures 13.5cm (5 1/4") wide, 10cm (3 7/8") deep and 14cm (5 1/2") high. Condition is very good; there is a small glaze level chip under the edge of the lid which cannot be seen square on. No restoration and very light surface wear, just a few tiny areas of rubbing to the gilding on the lid.
