Handsome Half Moon English Sterling Silver Jewellery Box - 1921

Description

A wonderful demi-lune or half-moon shaped jewellery box made from sterling silver standing on four elegant cabriole legs.

The top of the lid is engraved with a smart linear engine turned decoration with a central circular vacant cartouche.

The lid fits well and once opened, reveals the original blue silk lining to both the box and lid. The full English hallmark is present for Birmingham 1921 just shy of 100 years old. The makers mark is also present for the well renowned silversmith, Charles S Green & Co.

Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. 4 7/8" x 2 1/2" x 1 7/8".
