Hand of Glory has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The top frieze central panel and apron have hand carved and stained decoration.

Dating from the late 18th/early 19th Century.
The use of burr elm panels and this type of carving on armoires and buffets is a particular feature found on Bressan country furniture.
The armoire is a good useable size and not too large as these armoires often are. The patina is good and there has clearly been some restoration in the past with the original shelves replaced for a hanging rail. Typical to antique French country furniture it has traces of old wood
