Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1700s.
The two rounded leaves rising to the horizontal, supported by a pair of gate legs. The leaves and central plank, forming an oval top when raised. The frieze with a long drawer, with rounded wood knob handle. The table on turned and ringed outward tapering legs, the legs joined by rounded top stretchers. The whole finished with cup feet.
It is absolutely original, and of exceptional colour and patination.
Height 27 inches, width 41 inches when leaves raised, depth 33 inches.
Date c 1720.
