This is a very unusual piece, the Settle has intricately carved lions Masks, 2 on the bottom front panels, 2 more at each side of these and with with resting lions forming the arm rests, it has a hinged lid to access the storage compartment inside
The back of the settle has 2 more carved panels, one indoor scene, a pub perhaps with men fighting, and the other an outdoor scene with music and dancing, and on the very top rail we have a carved gentleman at each end
The settle is 43” high at the back and 48” wide, it is 20” deep
