Antique Vertex Revue pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, with a signature for Gédéon Thommen. Vertex imported Thommen watches and then, later on, they imported just the movements to be cased in the UK as per the example we have here. This particular movement is working nicely and it is protected by a nicely engraved inner cover with an inscription to Owen Davies dating back to Christmas 1919.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the English case maker, the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case is in good condition and the back has the initials OD. The watch glass has small marks but not too detrimental.

The signed dial is in good condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single albert, 30cm long including the T-bar and clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
