Victorian Cast Iron Lion Doorstop

Description

A heavy and well made Victorian cast iron doorstop of a lion weighing 4.2kgs, the unusual shaped base confirms it is an early casting.

It is 30cm in height, the back of the base is 19cm and the angled front is 16cm; the thickness of the doorstop is 6cm.

The lion's tail curves upwards and joins a rope effect with floral details around and forms a handle. The details are crisp and clear and not easily shown in photographs.
