Description

A Good George III Period oak and mahogany cross banded dower chest. Having a rectangular solid oak top cross banded in mahogany and hinged, which opens to reveal a storage area. The front has six rectangular oak drawer fronts cross banded in mahogany. The top two drawers are "dummy drawers", with one long rectangular drawer and two smaller drawers beneath. Having quarter reeded columns, panelled ends and standing on shaped ogee bracket feet. English circa 1800

Condition: This dower chest is in excellent condition, a good colour and patination. The handles have been changed a few times in its life, the current handles are of the period
