Description

This incredibly heavy and beautifully made brass dolphin with the tail wrapped around a Trident spear is in very good condition, and we date it to Circa 1910.

The Trident spear represents Poseidon or Neptune, the God of the Sea and this one unscrews from the base which reflects the fine workmanship that went into making the item.

We have referred to it as a doorstop (or door porter as they used to be called) as it came in with the collection of other early Victorian doorstops we have on the website, but it could have been made as a display piece.

It weighs 7kgs. It measures 58.5cm in height; 26.5cm across the widest point and the base measures 22.5cm x 9.5cm.

If the buyer can arrange collection from us in SW London we will pack it safely and offer a good discount on the price. Alternatively, we may be able to deliver within easy reach of SW London and surrounding areas.
