Description

A 19th Century Nursery Fire Guard.

The fire guard with a rounded brass top rail, following the 'D' shape of the body, filled with a wire work mesh, over the wrought iron uprights. The top rail finished with bow fire too holders. The bottom finished with a rounded concave brass rail, enclosing the base plate, fitted with bracket so hold the bottom of fire tools.

Date c 1870.

Height 18 1/2 inches, width 32 inches, depth 12 1/2 inches.
