Large Regency Gilded Girandole Wall Mirror C.1820.

19th century
Description

Large Regency period wall mirror c.1820. Original 29? x 39? mirror plate within broad moulded and gilded gesso frame with candle sconces or girandole. Decorated with ears of wheat and delicate frieze of scrolling foliage and laurel leaves topped with a scallop shell. A few missing portions of gesso and some and earlier repairs. Minor tarnish to the mirror. Otherwise in superb original condition, retaining the original gilding.
