Sold by: Its About Time

Here we have an extremely well made, small timepiece by the fashionable Regency period maker - Ganthony , London . Richard Ganthony, Sr. began his apprenticeship in 1785 and in 1794 became a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, serving as Master in 1828. From 1803 to 1825, he worked out of Cannon Street and subsequently Lombard Streets before moving to 83 Cheapside in 1825 - roughly the time this was made. The case is constructed of mahogany with boxwood line inlay. The dial is high quality vitreous enamel, reserved only for the finest Bracket clocks, Roman numerals, brass hands and a very compact single fusee movement with silvered name plate to the back plate, a very pleasant feature. See all photo''s of the clocks restoration. Supplied with a U.K 24 month guarantee.
