Impressive Rich Golden Oak Fire Surround from Around 1900

1900 - 1920
Description

This well detailed fire surround dates from the turn of the century and is in very clean and tidy condition. The colour is lovely being a rich golden oak and the detail is also really good, from the raised panels in the sides and between the corbels which support the top to the finely carved detail accross the centre. The central hole is a standard 36ins square so will take a normal cast fire centre or leave this open and fit a wood burner as can be seen in the pictures. This French example is already sold I am afraid. We have a couple of fenders that would suit this fireplace and other items such as Andirons etc. The overall sizes are below but the body width is 159cms. There is an awful lot of work in this fireplace for the fairly modest price.
