Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
It strikes with a "ting-tang" double strike on two gongs on the quarter and the hours on a seperate gong. It is a beautiful mellow tone.

The brass dial has a matted centre with silvered chapter ring and subsiduary rise and fall dial , STRIKE/SILENT lever, and gilded spandrels.
The oak case retains it's original French-polish finish with a marvellously rich patina that only age can give. There is hand carved detail to both the front of the clock and also the caddy top. An ornate brass carrying handle to the top.
A very majestic looking clock.
